Ok, time to get SUPER excited ladies.  ELIF for JT is officially in the separates business!

Dont tell anyone, but above is a sneak peak of whats to come for the 2014 season!!!  There is really nothing I love more than a cute pair of hot pants to galavant around the Hampton’s in.  As our loyal customers know, we are absolutely obsessed with this amazing zigzag/chevon esq. fabric… this year we decided to take it to the next level.  Bright colors and adorable matching shorts, seriously, what is better?

What happened to spring?

I don’t know about you but the question on all my friends minds has been, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO SPRING? I mean honestly, does anyone know where it went?? It feels as though we have bypassed fall and spring this year an jumped head first into winter and summer. Not that I’m complaining though, I’m so excited to exchange my big bulky sweaters and scarves for shorts, sandals and most importantly my pletorea of chic dresses from my Elif for JT collection. What I love most about it is not only the versatility but its grab and go abilities.

As I mentioned before, I am kind of still unprepared for the weather.. It totally came out of nowhere. With that said, most of my summer items are packed away at the bottom of my closet (a place rarely visited). Because of this most of my things need to be pressed after months of being folded and essentially forgotten about. What I absolutely love about my Elif items is that they are totally ready to be worn ! It’s such a relief knowing I can just grab one of my dresses and head out the door without a second thought.

DESTINATION: Bermuda

It’s snowing (again) in New York today and all we can think about is when will it be beach season again. Everyone in the showroom’s thinking about their next vacation. One of our favorite destinations….Bermuda!

With one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Horseshoe Bay), you can’t go wrong.  Thousands flock to the tiny island for it’s crystal clear waters, pink sand and picture perfect weather. You can’t go wrong with a place that rarely drops below 68 degrees in the winter or goes about 86 degrees in the summer.

ELIF KATIK TO OVERSEE DESIGN FOR ALL THE JORDAN TAYLOR BRANDS

Elif Katik will now oversee swimwear in addition to her responsibilities as Head Designer for resort and ready-to-wear. Elif will manage all of the company’s brands including Jordan Taylor Beachwear, Elif for Jordan Taylor (resort), Jordan Taylor Swimwear, Elif for Jordan Taylor Swimwear (set to debut in Summer 2014) and her own self-titled ready-to-wear collection, Elif Collection.

Born in Turkey and raised in The Netherlands, Elif Katik is a New York-based women’s wear designer. A graduate of Amsterdam’s renowned Gerrit Rietveld Academy with a degree in fashion and stage design; Elif first started her career as an industry-praised costume and set designer for the Dutch dance community. But drawn to fashion, she unveiled her first couture collection at the world famous Amsterdam Theatre. Well received by the European fashion community who described her line as conceptual “fashion art,” Katik decided to take her collection and venture to New York where she joined the Jordan Taylor family as a beach and resort wear designer.

IT’S FASHION WEEK!!!

It’s Fashion Week here in New York and everyone’s buzzing about new collections and the newest faces strutting their stuff on the catwalk. This is when young models become household names.  Remember Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington? How about Cindy Crawford?

TRENDS 2013: BRAZIL

Everyone loves when Fashion Week rolls around.  With every major world city having at least one a year, it’s a great way for industry insiders to get a glimpse of what will be trending next season. Of course for swim and beachwear, our favorite editions include Sao Paulo Fashion Week and Fashion Rio in Brazil.

One of the biggest trends coming out of Brazil for 2013 is the use of metallics. Gold threads, lurex, foil applications and lamé were just some of the major techniques and fabrications designers incorporated into their collections to make them shine.  Emphasis shifted from metallic in the form of hardware and more to fabrics that shine and sparkle.
